Village for Vets Selected to Receive $65,000 Grant from The Sam Initiative & Hirsch Family Foundation

Village for Vets is honored to be receiving a grant of $65,000 ($15,000 from SAM and $50,000 from the Hirsch Family Foundation). This grant is a collaboration with SAM member, Susan Hirsch Wohl, from The Hirsch Family Foundation. These funds will support an additional case manager to provide service to VA social workers to increase capacity and serve a total of 550 Veterans with temporary financial assistance, document support, housing navigation, and other supportive services over the next year.

After competing with over 200 other non-profits, Village for Vets was selected to receive funds in this granting cycle along with East Los Angeles Women's Center, Alexandria House, and Ready to Succeed LA. The SAM Initiative, a renowned philanthropic giving circle, has donated millions of dollars since founder Mindy Freedman began bringing together volunteers to support a rotating roster of nonprofits through private philanthropy. They hope these grants cause a ripple effect where others are inspired to donate in any way they can.
