Helping Veterans feel at home in their new housing

At Village for Vets our goal is to #EndVeteranHomelessness in Los Angeles County and beyond. All of our programs and community partnerships are designed to help Veterans secure housing and remain housed once they are there. We believe strongly that it’s not just getting Vets off of the streets that will solve this crisis but it’s addressing their entire situation mental, physical, and emotional. One huge factor is making sure that Veterans feel comfortable, safe, and secure in their new housing.

Furniture and housewares are among the top unmet needs of formerly homeless and low-income Veterans. We believe that by meeting this need, we are contributing to helping Vets remain securely housed. That’s why we accept new or gently used furniture and housewares such as couches, loveseats, tables & chairs, coffee & end tables, lamps, dishes, and other household goods. We will pick them up, store them, and match the item with a Veteran in need. All furniture and houseware donations are tax-deductible and you will be provided a donation receipt upon request.

If you’d like to donate new or gently used furniture or houseware please contact cathy@villageforvets.org to coordinate a pickup.

Here’s what some of our Veterans have had to say about receiving these donations:

As a lifelong homeless man, with periods of employment in between periods of despair, a second chance has been handed to me. Thank you for your truly exquisite furniture.
